Combo Tour : Soweto & Gold Reef City

This combination tour offers travelers the opportunity to visit both Soweto and Gold Reef City Theme Park as a full day tour. The tour begins in Soweto, which is often described as the "the Birth Place of the Struggle", followed by a visit to Gold Reef City Theme Park.

Soweto, short for "SOuth WEstern TOwnships" was the brain child of the Apartheid Government, and came into being in 1956 as part of the "Group Areas Act". On this leg of the tour we journey to the "Birth place of the struggle", as we explore the Regina Church, a famous refuge from the State police; visit the homes of Nelson Mandela and Archbishop Desmond Tutu; pay our respects at the Hector Pieterson Memorial; and visit Freedom Square, amongst other sites of significance. The tour then proceeds to Gold Reef City Theme Park.

A definite must see attraction for the whole family. This unique theme park boosts cobbled stone streets; Victorian style buildings; over 30 adventurous family rides; great pubs and restaurants, as well the Heritage Tour—"Jozi Story of Gold" which includes viewing the introductory movie Rich Beginnings - Our Golden Heritage, entrance to the Museum Houses, a gold pouring demonstration , and an underground mine tour.
