Kruger Park day tours put the cherry on top of any African getaway

Whether you are a South African or a tourist from abroad, no African holiday is complete without a walk on the wild side, so to speak. When it comes to breathtaking landscapes and magnificent wildlife, South Africa is truly the land of plenty. There is no way you can say you have experienced this beautiful country if you haven't visited one of the numerous game farms or nature reserves. The most popular destination is without a doubt the world famous Kruger National Park, the largest reserve in South Africa. It is true that not every holiday is a safari and that exploring nature is not everybody's cup of tea, so it is good to know that Kruger Park day tours are also available, giving you the chance to slip it into your holiday itinerary without too much hassle.

The Kruger National Park covers an impressive area of approximately 19 000 km 2 (± 7 400 mi 2) of pristine countryside, making it very obvious that you won't be able to cover the entire reserve with the Kruger Park day tours. You can be sure, however, with the abundance of wildlife present, even a day tour will be worth it. It boasts the largest collection of mammals of any reserve on the African continent with 147 species. This includes, of course, the Big Five – the lion, leopard, elephant, buffalo and rhinoceros. Other animals include zebras, giraffes, cheetahs and a wide variety of bucks among others. There are also 114 species of reptiles, including approximately 3 000 crocodiles. And birdwatchers will be pleased to know that about 517 species of birds are found here.
